From Syria, With Love
Our story begins with our founder, a Syrian chef whose love for food started at home, around a family table filled with laughter, spices, and tradition.
Raised in the rich culinary culture of the Levant, he grew up surrounded by the flavors that define Eastern Mediterranean cuisine, from grilled meats and fresh herbs to warm bread and shared mezze. These traditions, deeply rooted across Syria and Lebanon, shaped his passion for hospitality and honest cooking.
After leaving Syria, he carried those flavors with him to Germany, where his dedication and craftsmanship led to the success of his first restaurant. His food quickly became known for its authenticity and heart, earning recognition not only from loyal guests, but also from German newspapers that shared his journey and celebrated his work.
But the journey didn’t end there.
With a dream of bringing the warmth of Levantine hospitality to a new home, he moved to the United States and opened Yalla Habibi — a Lebanese Mediterranean restaurant inspired by the vibrant flavors of the region and the spirit of gathering around the table.
Today, every dish at Yalla Habibi reflects that journey. From Syria, through Germany, and now to your table. It’s more than a meal. It’s a story of resilience, heritage, and bringing people together through the shared language of food.
